Pay It Forward
So, last Thursday (June 9), my family went downtown. Every Thursday in my town, there is something called a “Block Party” where some unheard of band (like middle-aged dudes who would be has-beens if they had ever made it anywhere…except they didn’t) plays and people just gather together and have fun. There’s no drinking and very little dancing, but it’s a big thing to a small boring town.
Well, last Thursday my family went to it, and instead of watching the band, my sister and I walked around and went to the local coffee shop. Well, we went in ordered our Turtle Mocha Lattes (her’s with an extra shot of espresso, mine with an extra shot of chocolate). We got our drinks and the girl working rang it up and told me the price. I reached for my money about the time a guy behind us spoke up and said, “I’ll pay for theirs.” After he got his order, and paid for his drinks and ours, my sister gave him a mixtape she made and hands out to many people as a thank-you, he said “thanks” and to have a nice day and he left. He didn’t want anything in return and didn’t even care to hang out afterwards. Just wanted to be nice. Niceness - Pass it on.
